Treasury Analyst I

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Treasury Analyst I. Reporting to the Treasury Manager, this position analyzes and performs cash and investment activities in support of the University's financial operations.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Performs daily cash positioning and make investment or redemption decisions
Creates models in Microsoft Excel and/or the TMS to improve the accuracy of cash forecasts
Manages supporting software and bank portals, including the Treasury Management System (TMS)
Tracks market trends and proactively recommend adjustments to the investment strategy and asset allocation based on projected yield, maturities, and liquidity needs
Makes day-to-day decisions on investment vehicles for short term cash
Maintains policies and procedures for key Treasury activities including daily cash positioning, cash handling, electronic payments, cash forecasting, Treasury accounting, etc.
Evaluates existing processes to identify opportunities for efficiencies, automation, and risk mitigation
Initiates or approve wire and ACH payments
Conducts regular bank fee analysis and recommend changes related to bank account structure and products
Prepares monthly management reports on investment performance, liquidity, and other financial metrics
Maintains bank accounts and related documentation and signatories
Coordinates with other university departments on key projects
Acts as a point of contact within Treasury to assist university departments with banking, cash handling, credit cards, electronic transfers, etc.
Assists with regular review of unclaimed property recovery and works through the necessary steps to claim funds
Acts as a security administrator for online bank portals
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferably in Finance or related field
A minimum 2 years of treasury experience in a corporate or higher education environment
