Summary of Duties:The Cougar Health Services (CHS)
Director of Operations has primary responsibility for the coordination and daily management, of the support services of CHS. This includes direct oversight of accreditation, pharmacy, quality assurance, compliance, patient support services, billing, coding, reception, medical records, credentialing, executive support, and electronic health records; indirect oversight of facilities, informational technology, and other centralized support services; and partnership with the Budget/Finance Manager and Personnel and Finance Coordinator, who are co-located and report separately to the AVC-Finance.
Under general supervision of the Executive Director (ED), exercises independent judgment and decision-making, providing first-line approval for routine departmental policies and day-to-day operational matters. Demonstrates a strict level of confidentiality in all medical, business, and personnel related matters. Acts as the Executive Director of CHS in their absence.
Collaborates with internal and external partners as a leader in a service that contributes to student success and which reflects and promotes an attitude of inclusion, diversity, access, and equity.
Required Qualifications:- Positions require a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and six (6) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least three (3) years of managerial experience. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment.
- Three (3) years of experience managing in a medical or mental health setting.
- Experience developing and implementing a strategic plan.
- Experience managing a budget and maintaining fiscal accountability for multiple units.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use various technology platforms such as the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.)
- Valid unrestricted driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:- Five (5) years of experience in a management role.
- Graduate degree in business or a related field, including any of the professional fields represented within CHS.
- Experience and/or knowledge of state and federal laws/regulations pertaining to healthcare, including experience with oversight of medical billing and coding.
- Experience with WSU or a similar higher education system.
- Experience and commitment to providing services to diverse student populations including, but not limited to, BIPOC students, LGBTQ+ students, undocumented, migrant, and immigrant students, international students, and veterans.
