Brief Posting Description
Responsible for evaluating corporate casualty and property exposures, and recommending management techniques for identified exposures, including the purchase of appropriate insurance coverage. Evaluates casualty and property damage exposures, policies and procedures, facilities and equipment. Develops management techniques for identifying risk and methods of addressing, such as avoidance, mitigation, retention or transfer. Maintain insurance costs and other data for tracking and analysis. Administers insurance related functions, such as renewals, claims submittal and tracking, loss control inspections, asset lists and values, policies, certificates, bonds, surveys, reports, invoicing budgets and other related issues.
Note : There is one position available, and the position will be filled at either the Financial Analyst I (NB18), Financial Analyst II (NB19), Financial Analyst III (NB20) or Senior Financial Analyst (NB22). This decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected, and Tri-State business needs at the time of hire.

Job Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate casualty and physical damage exposures policies and procedures, facilities and equipment. (Personnel liabilities are the purview of the Safety function.)
- Develop management techniques for identifying risks and responses, such as avoidance, mitigation, retention or transfer (including other's insurance or Tri-State's).
- Administer insurance related functions, such as claims submittal and tracking, renewals, inspections, asset lists and values, policies, certificates, bonds, surveys, reports, and related issues.
- Establish, organize and maintain insurance records, policies, endorsements and correspondence, in system directories.
- Establish, organize and maintain insurance cost allocations by business unit and program.
- Interact with business units to complete policy renewal applications and assist in negotiating policy renewals.
- Assist with contract review from insurance requirement perspective.
- Develop internal processes for obtaining and tracking claims information.
- Assist with claims information gathering for TPA (Third Party Administrator).
- Directly handle small subrogation recovery matters.
- Provide support and assistance to Insurance Manager.
- Maintain relationships with insurers, claims adjusters and insurance brokers in order to keep them up-to-date with pertinent changes in the corporation.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and forecast for the Insurance functional area.
- Assist with the budget and forecast variance analysis on a monthly basis.
- Administer the organization and maintenance of historical records of claims and costs; monitor and analyze all claims in the property and casualty areas.
- Coordinate reporting and claims management with the Safety, Legal, and Fleet functions.
- Establish, administer, and maintain insurance data electronically for tracking and trending analysis.
- Reconciling current and prior day banking activities and immediately resolve or report any variances
- Back up and assist with weekly check runs, payment file transmittals, tax payments and/or Member prepays
- Determine daily cash requirements, amount of investable cash and/or borrowing requirements to maintain positive daily cash positions.
- Ensure SOX compliance to various Cash Group ICFR's (internal controls for financial reporting).
- Assist with various cash forecasting techniques to include electronic payment funding requirements, forward valuation of A/P check runs and outstanding check float.
- Maintain various interest income, investment yield, long range forecast and budget materials as needed.
- Participate in Cash Management discovery sessions and/or periodic business process reviews.
- Support Cash Manager as needed.
- Support Corporate Finance Manager as needed.
- Adhere to and demonstrate compliance with appropriate electric utility industry regulatory requirements. Attain knowledge and remain knowledgeable of development in regulations, laws, standards and best practices applicable to the functional area including, but not limited to, Standards of Conduct, Environmental, Employment Law, NERC Reliability Standards and Safety. Must be familiar with, and comply with, all aspects of Corporate Policy C-54, Compliance.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Training
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Insurance; or directly related discipline or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
- Knowledge of insurance principles, practices and methodologies.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written, internally and externally.
- Ability to lead a project team and coordinate with users outside of the Safety/ Insurance function.
- Working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations affecting insurance matters.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with ability to efficiently build, maintain and manipulate spreadsheets, and manage data.
- Basic computer knowledge, including ability to build and maintain file directories of information.
Experience:
- Eight (8) or more years (or equivalent combination of experience and education).of progressive professional experience involving corporate casualty and property insurance principles, practices and methodologies. Note : The above requirements describe the experience and education for the Senior Financial Analyst. Those with less experience will be hired at the Financial Analyst I, II or III grade level.
