We provide a wide range of support functions that are vital to the operation of the University and to the success of students, faculty, and staff.
This Fiscal Technician is responsible for the daily monetary transactions for the University under the supervision of the Cashiering Supervisor.
Accepting and posting all revenue received by the University to proper accounts balances for cash drawer.
Ensuring that all student refund checks are accurate before students are allowed to receive their checks.
Utilizing various software packages to perform daily job requirements.
Working with Collection Unit to ensure maximum customer service and accountability.
Working within established parameters when accepting payments and activating accounts.
Referring student to proper office personnel when decision is beyond specific parameters.
Posting late payment fees and removes holds.
Ensuring proper documentation is supplied with each petty cash request.
Monitoring closed accounts for non-approved departments.
Analyzing student accounts to determine that payments and credits are applied to proper accounts and adjusts when necessary.
Providing assistance in other departments within Fiscal Affairs.
Providing coverage for other cashiers in their absence.
Supplying data and/or assistance to miscellaneous programs.
Providing support to the Perkins Loan program.
The ideal candidates has comprehensive knowledge and experience in the application of FERPA and a commitment to excellent customer service.
One or more of the following:
Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work.
An Associate’s degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting principles and practices
Knowledge of relevant accounting financial systems
Knowledge of modern office practices and equipment
Applicants must successfully complete interview process to be considered as a finalist.
