This position is in the Department of Neurology. This is a remote position.
This position will provide support for various patient accounts functions. Support includes Special Billing Follow Up, Epic Charge Review, WQ Support, and Patient Advocacy.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs Special Billing Follow Up.
Assists the appeals unit with various CRM requests using multiple electronic health record systems. Performs follow up duties for specific appealed claims and appeals pending invoices. Performs special projects as assigned.
Assists with Epic Charge Entry and Epic Billing Edits.
Assists various patient accounts team members with claims edits.
Acts as back up for coders, appeals analysts & various positions during peak vacation times, staff shortages, etc.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.
Three to five years of previous billing or insurance experience.
Two years of college or business school.
Working knowledge of electronic health systems, medical billing systems, CPT and ICD-10 coding.
Attention to detail and good organization skills.
Ability to work well independently with limited supervision.
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
The hiring range for this position is $18.81 - $23.52 per hour.
