ColumbiaDoctors is dedicated to providing healthcare and administrative support to Columbia University Medical Center, with over 1,600 providers with revenues in excess of $800 million. We are seeking a highly motivated customer service-focused accounting professional to join our team.
Enters vouchers, check requests, requisitions, purchase orders into ARC financial system to support accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation and entry.
Oversees the maintenance of accounts payable activity for the Faculty Practice Organization to ensure provider and services are accurate and up to date. Provides timely status updates to relevant stakeholders, and proactively follows up on requests to ensure timely resolution.
Reconciles all faculty practice receipts received through ColumbiaDoctors bank accounts to the Practice Management System (IDX & EPIC).
Reviews and reconciles transfer of funds recorded centrally in the ColumbiaDoctors general ledger account to individual clinical department's faculty practice general ledger accounts. Identify problematic transactions for escalation and participates in resolution process for problematic transactions.
Monitors the electronic receipts through Healthcare link (HCL) to ensure all electronic payments have been matched and posted and exceptions timely resolved.
Assists in the monthly, quarterly, and annual FPO close process, including journal entries, variance analysis, reconciling departmental accounts, and maintaining receivable and recovery schedules
Reconciles banking activity daily and reconcile monthly bank accounts
Tracks meaningful use, P4P, and settlement payments received and receivable
Updates and maintains trackers to ensure the capture and recovery of all charges. Performs standard audits on these trackers to ensure accuracy.
Enter check requests for distributions, meaningful use, P4P, and settlement payments
Enter/Upload journal entries into the general ledger
Develops and maintains a productive and collaborative relationship with all relevant stakeholders.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related required
Minimum 3 years related experience with 1 year experience in accounting related field required, preferably with exposure to an academic physician practice.
Advanced Excel and database management skills required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously is essential.
Must successfully complete systems training requirements.
Experience with COGNOS, J.P Morgan Healthcare Link (HCL), IDX, EPIC, Peoplesoft /ERP software is preferable.
