The goal of Architecture & Development Practices (ADP) is to design and govern a target state architecture that meets the strategic business needs. To act as a trusted partner to the organization, enabling and leading with an 'Architecture First' approach. Accelerate our evolution into a software-based organization, creating the policies, tools and processes that our software development teams leverage. ADP delivers innovative, high quality, cost effective, fit-for-purpose technology solutions for application partners firm-wide through Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI). As a highly experienced technical leader, you will be responsible for managing complex programs running across multiple Lines of Business, containing multiple, interrelated projects and programs. These programs will deliver a step change in the way that GTI defines and delivers its technology strategy to support its business strategy, drives architectural discipline into our 140+ products and helps drive software technical excellence across our growing number of development teams. You will be expected to lead and drive organizational, operational and / or technological change. As a senior leader, your proven judgment and decision making ability will be instrumental in driving transformation in the organization. You will serve as an escalation point for resolving issues for portfolios and across multiple platforms. As a team, you and your peers will be responsible for driving results by managing projects to completion in support of firm-wide technology initiatives. Primary Responsibilities:
Partnering with the Subject Matter Experts across Architecture & Development Practices to maintain a cadence of execution against the target state vision
Partnering across GTI with the product towers to drive strategic execution of the ADP programmes that affect them.
Drive strategic and operational initiatives that are critical to the long term growth of GTI
Make well informed and thoughtful recommendations for process improvement or solutions to fill current gaps.
Interpret and utilize data to validate and support points of view and proposed decisions / solutions.
Prepare effective presentation materials with data visualizations and concise messaging of relevant points.
Work across senior-level executives with competing priorities and objectives to identify strategies and solutions that most benefit the organization.
Build strong relationships at the executive level while performing these tasks.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferably in the financial services industry
Good breadth of technical knowledge including familiarity with key architectural disciplines and software engineering practices including experience of running large software development teams
Good breadth of understanding of infrastructure and experience of working within an infrastructure organisation
Leads very large, complex programs across multiple Lines of Business
Leads global teams of project and program managers in the execution of complex projects and programs
Establishes program objectives, priorities and roadmap
Ensures programs are delivered in accordance with all Risk, Architecture and other relevant firm-wide guidelines
Coordinates resources (staff, equipment, vendors and consultants) across one or more programs
Manages budget for assigned program or department, monitors progress and adjusts resources and priorities accordingly
Coaches and mentors less experienced team members and may also include people management responsibilities
Maintains a strong system of internal governance and controls
Builds teams that succeed by continually assessing the deliverables and aligning team members with the appropriate skills
Creates a client-centric environment for team and contributors
Interacts with executive leadership and cross LOB resources to deliver projects and programs
May include direct accountability for people management
Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
