As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You'll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You'll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what's being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. The role is to design, develop and support various applications, processes and software components for the FX Options desk in Athena. Working with QR, Structuring, Trading, Sales and Middle Office teams, you will be called upon to deliver quality code in a fast paced environment that evolves as business opportunities present themselves. The objective is to quickly understand new requirements, propose solutions and deliver with impact, while identifying the gaps in the system pro-actively; support the existing infrastructure and prioritize on the go, while maintaining a high level of interaction with the business. The role will require an ability to attain clear understanding of Athena environment and of the unique design considerations that come into play in a diverse and highly interdependent systems environment.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
Proficiency in Python is highly preferred. And experience with Linux/Unix
Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
Options/Financial Mathematics knowledge preferred
Brilliant analytical and problem solving skills
Possess a great attention to detail
