Institutional Equities covers a number of business activities including Marke t-making in a number of products, Trading, Sales and Research. The product range includes Cash Equities, client connectivity and Equity Derivatives. The Equities business is a truly global business and is a major business area for J P Morgan with an aggressive growth plan envisaged over the next few years.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working in a highly dynamic trading environment working closely with Cash Equities Front Office and Middle Office. The candidate will be working very closely with Front Office in particular to support all business flows and applications.
Responsibilities: · Understanding the Cash Equities business flow and providing application consultation and support to Front and Middle Office
· Working hand-in-hand with Front & Middle Office to support trading and booking of the trades from an application perspective · Develop key application expertise on the Global Strategic Cash Equities suite of applications, working with Global teams in Hong Kong, London and New York · Rapid application development to automate manual processes, support adhoc reporting and queries from Front & Middle Office
· Participate in key projects for expansion of the business to ensure seamless implementation Skills & Knowledge Required : · Degree of quantitative nature/IT · Financial experience required ideally in Cash Equities · Knowledge of Order capture, Cash Agency Trading, Middle Office sub account allocation and post trade strongly preferred · Strong technical foundation; Unix, Sybase SQL, FIX protocol, Oracle Timesten and Scripting (Perl Python or Shell) · Problem solving, analytical and investigation techniques · Excellent communication skills · Trade support experience is ideal · Bilingual Japanese Speaker(preferred)
