As a Medical Collection Coordinator at Optum360, a fast-paced, high growth company within UnitedHealth Group, you will be contacting and consulting with patients and / or their families who have outstanding medical bills. You'll consult directly with our customers to identify reasons for late payments and set up payment plans that are mutually agreeable. Your ability to communicate, persuade and convey payment urgency is critical to the overall success of our company. Your work will not only impact the bottom line, but it will also make a difference in the lives of our customers, greatly reducing their financial burden. At the end of the day, you'll know you are doing your life's best work. Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for the management of client accounts receivables. Portfolios range from $500,000 to $4 million, with number of accounts ranging up to1500 or possibly higher. Provide account management support through regular engagement with Sales Director, Billing Service Representative, District Sales Managers, Regional Sales Managers, and Controllers on an as needed basis. Facilitate conference calls with all relevant internal resources. Interface with the external client regularly including CEOs and CFOs to drive AR improvements via Transfers and Cash. Make daily collection calls on past due accounts. Negotiate with new "high risk" client accounts on specialized payment terms. Collaborate with Sales Representatives and Business Unit leadership on terms for clients who have filed bankruptcy to establish debtor in possession accounts. Maintain call records and other documentation via the Client Collections Database (NRSC) or other local tool. Address most customer issues and problems within 48 hours, by engaging all responsible parties to drive timely resolution and reduce client dissatisfaction.Negotiate and prepare payment plans according to the Client collections SOP. Perform client account reconciliations, adjustments and transfers for accounts at risk.Prepare various reports: High Risk, Bad Debt Reserve, No Pay, and 180 days Equal Total Due. Prepare comprehensive electronic placement packages and forward these accounts with an outside collection agency or attorney. Other duties, tasks and projects as assigned.
